Congratulations.

For all the training you've endured, for all the time you've spent,
for all the effort you've put in, for all the stress you've undergone.

To all VJ Climbers:

Thank You & Good Effort.

FYI (for recording's sake)

VJRC's performance in the National Schools Sport Climbing Championship:

Individual Men : 1st (Aaron Ng) , 2nd (Louis)

Individual Women : 1st (Xiaoxian)

Mixed Team Relay : 1st (Louis, Xiaoxian, Leonard, Aaron Ng & Aaron Tan)

We have also, from our wonderful performance in both Individual & Team events, become the Overall School Champion for NSSCC 2007, bringing home a badass trophy.

Well Done people!!

This concludes the '07 year of climbing.
Hope this result inspires you to train harder for next year & scale greater heights.

p.s. if that doesn't, perhaps King Lines & Dosage IV will... heh.

Trials are only for guys.
the timed trials will determine team placing. you are expected to come down for 1 of the dates (7th or 9th), At least. You MAY use wednesday's slot to practise and friday for your actual trial. the routes will be the 2 that are currently on the right wall.

I will be judging the trials.
Procedure for the trials will be told to you on the day itself.

For the girls' team, due to the fact that eliz & cass are going on OCIP, the rest of you are automatically in the team (yvonne, nicole, qianrou, xiaoxian). either eliz/cass will be the reserve climber. You are however encouraged to come down for the timed trials, since it's extra practice.

Monday PTs

Hello people! Uh, it's me again. Okay, basically, we've decided to split you guys up into groups so that PT can be conducted more efficiently. There will be 2 groups, one group under me and Xiaoxian, the other under Louis and Aaron.

1st group:
Xiaoxian
Qian Rou
Nicole
Yi Xiang
Wenshu
Donovan
Benjamin
Aaron Tan
Collin
Cedric

2nd group:
Aaron Ng
Louis
Yvonne
Elizabeth
Cassandra
Nazri
Shi Ju
Cheuk Yiu
Leonard
Janel

Schedule for Monday PTs:

1600 - 1630 Run
1630 - 1645 Rest + light stretching
1645 - 1730 Group 1 climbs, Group 2 does sets
1730 - 1815 Group 2 climbs, Group 1 does sets

Sets: (in case you forgot)
10 pull ups (assisted for girls)
20 push ups
20 sit ups

5 sets.

In between each set, 6 minutes of rest. During rest, do deep stretching.

4 different stretches. Do one stretch per rest interval, 3 times. Stretching to be done in pairs (hence the 6 minute resttime)

It is highly recommended that you do hangboard training or pullups during your breaks or after school.

We will be enforcing this rather strictly (unlike current PT sessions) so please try to be on time (1600 sharp). Valid reasons shall have to be given for not turning up.

Okay, that's all. See you guys next week!

-Qian.

Training/Coaching: Wednesday/Thursday

Hey people,

Okay, in case you guys didn't get the memo, training this Wednesday (1st August) will be in school instead of at Climbasia (to accomodate the careers fair thingamajig). The wall will possibly be open from 2.30 pm onwards, so please gravitate towards the wall after your attention span for talks wears out. (We'll be making Things, so try to be present).

Training on Thursday (2nd August) for the Thursday coaching group is at Yishun SAFRA again. Just a couple of things:

-If you are taking the Aaron Tan route, please note:
Take bus 36 from the stop opposite the school (for rest of route contact the abovementioned Tan)

-Please secure your own harness from the ODAC room. Nicole and Yi Xiang, if you guys are leaving first, take one belaying device. I'll take the other one.

Okay so I lied, it's more than a couple of things:

-Due to past experiences leaving after 3.45 is too late. So please leave as soon as your lessons end. If you can't find a person to travel with either accept the fact that no one loves you and travel by your lonesome or wait at the bookshop. All persons who have lessons that vaguely end at around 3-something and are unwilling to go alone please gravitate towards the bookshop. It is crucial that you leave school latest by 3.45. So if, by 3.45, you're still in school, screwit and just get yourself down to Yishun. Yay.

I will probably be going earlier, and I think Xiaoxian, Nicole and Yi Xiang will also be down earlier.

Also, uh, I think it will be very Wise indeed to bring slippers on Thursday.

That's basically it. See you guys on Wednesday/Thursday!

- Qian.
